D810 or the astro specific D810 version would be best. It's a great camera but at ISO 3200 and above your get really ugly purple noise in the bottom of images. Gorgeous shot! Hmmm might have to give this a try with my D750.Īs for recommendations to the original poster, I would advise not getting the D800/e for this. What about a D810A? Isn't it supposed to have actually been designed for exactly this? Barely any noise reduction needed for the sky I can't post photos here because I don't pay for an account but here's a photo from this weekend, IS0 10,000 for the sky and iso1600 for the foreground for 8 minutes. The 750 seems about a stop better than the d810 with high iso/noise, and about 2 stops better than the 800/e (yes, I've actually compared raw files from all these cameras). I do find the LCD useful for finding focus using live view and focusing on stars, better than my old Canon 6D for sure. I have the D750 and absolutely love it for astrophotography. D750 seems to be cleaner than d800 at iso3200 and iso6400. I do feel that in movie mode the LCD is a bit more useful in extreme darkness but i haven't tried that in an actual shoot. I don't have pictures to share at the moment but based upon my one outting with my d750 in MW kind of darkness the LCD is not useful. I need a second body so I'll have a backup camera, just wondering which of the two would be better at night. I'm OK in the lens department, having both a Rokinon 14mm f2.8 and the Zeiss 21mm f2.8, plus a Nikon 16mm fisheye for "fun" shots. Really, I've come to think that the lenses are more important. I've been using a D800E for night shots for most of a year now. The eyepiece shutter on the D800 is a nice thing to have for long exposure shooters - why on Earth did Nikon leave this off the D750?Īnyway, I am interested in hearing from D750 owners, and hope to see some examples posted in this thread. I'm currently making my night photos a priority over daytime landscapes, already have a D610 which does well at night. I'm trying to decide if I should get a new D750 or a used D800/D800e. Is the tilting LCD great or difficult to use in the dark? How's the DR compared to what you had before?Īny issues using Live View for focusing on stars? Anyone using the D750 for star photography?.

I’m not saying it’s like that all the time. Honestly, the most worrying part of this is that when any other player in the regular rotation has missed time, it’s been really apparent that the Jazz play better when they are on the court or at least available to play, but when Gay has missed time, it’s be kind of easy to forget what he actually adds. I think that the overarching thought is that Gay’s experience and his length will come in handy in the postseason, but I wish that we had more evidence of it.

Hightail gives you a lot of options for what happens when you send the file, such as whether it's password-protected, when the link expires, and so forth. The interface is useable but not especially pretty. This program looks more like an old-school email program, and it lets you send files. The second desktop app is called Hightail Express. You cannot right-click on any Hightail file, however, nor can you interact with it directly from the OS the way you can with Dropbox or Box. If you've used Dropbox or Box before, it looks and works similarly to those two services. It creates a folder on your computer called Hightail from here you can access what you've sent and received. The first desktop app, which is just called Hightail, installs hooks to the service in a way that makes it look like a part of your operating system. Did I mention there's an Outlook plugin, too? All this adds up to a jumble of apps and programs, rather than a streamlined experience. There are mobile apps for iOS and Android, which may come in handy any time you need to access something and aren't at a computer, except that the mobile apps don't include files stored in your Spaces. How to Get Hightail, and the Basics To use all the features in Hightail, you need to install two desktop applications (both available for both Windows and Mac), or you can use the Web interface. Anything you created with Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides (what most people call Google Docs) doesn't count. You might worry about eating up the space quickly, but not all files count against your limit. Google Drive gives you 15GB, but it's spread across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos (if you've chosen original photo resolution). users (though later this year that's going down to 5GB). OneDrive offers even more free space: 15GB for U.S. For $10 per month, you can increase your Box storage allotment to 100GB, and your maximum upload size goes up to 5GB. But beware that Box limits uploaded files to 250MB for non-paying members. In terms of free space, you get more with Box, which offers 10GB to start. With that plan, however, Microsoft throws in an Microsoft Office 365 subscription, which could be a huge value-add if you need Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and so on. Microsoft OneDrive is nearly as competitively priced, with a 1TB account going for just $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually. For the most bang for your buck storage-wise, IDrive offers 1TB for just $59.50 per year. SugarSync has a $9.99 per month plan, too, but it only gives you 250GB of space. With a Dropbox Pro account, you do get an alert when someone has downloaded something you've shared, and you can add password protection to things you share. Nevertheless, Dropbox Pro costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year for 1TB of space and a few other perks. Other online storage options tend to cost less, but most of them offer a slightly different service than Hightail does, focusing more on storage and collaboration, and less on file delivery. Pro users can send multiple files at a time and can choose any expiration date they want.Īs a point of comparison, DocuSign charges $120 annually ($10 per month) for an Individual, and twice that for a DocuSign Professional account. Pro users also get unlimited Spaces with no limit on how much data they keep in them. I'll go into more detail on how Spaces work a bit later in the review. Free users can create as many Spaces as they want. Spaces are groups of visual files, usually lumped together because they are all related to the same projects. Google Drive doesn't offer it at all.įree account users also have a 250MB upload limit in each Space they create. Microsoft OneDrive offers the same level of security for no added charge. Still, if you're sending sensitive documents, you'd want to add password protection or have a Pro account, which includes password protection in the price. Without password protection, links you share are public, but they are a scramble of letters and numbers, which wouldn't be simple for anyone to guess. Premium Delivery ($9.99 per file) lets you send any file up to 2GB in size with an expiration date two weeks away instead of one week. One convenience for free users is that they can buy upgrades à la carte.
Offer up as many services and features as you like, but give the people who don't want them an easy way to get them out of the way. Hopefully, as Bing Chat access widens, Microsoft will add a setting or a flag to Edge to just turn it off if you don't want it. Who knows, but those people shouldn't be forced to edit the Registry (with potential risk) to make it go away. Maybe they use Google search, maybe they just want a clean taskbar. Having Bing front and center isn't necessarily a bad thing, after all, Google Chrome defaults to pushing Google services.īut there are people out there who are happy to use Edge but don't want this in their browser. There are certainly plenty of other browsers you could use if you don't want any part of it. What’s new in version 1.0 Updated on Version 1. Silverlight supports fast, cost-effective delivery of high-quality video to all major browsers running on the OS X or Windows. Microsoft wants you to use Edge and it wants you to use Bing and Bing Chat. Silverlight offers a flexible programming model that supports AJAX, VB, C, Python, and Ruby, and integrates with existing Web applications. Windows Central take: Requiring a Registry edit to remove is the wrong thing to do You'll now be able to use the Edge browser without the Bing Chat button enabled. Naturally, if you're using the beta or dev channel versions, then swap the stable part of the command for your relevant version. microsoft-edge-stable -disable-features=msEdgeSidebarV2 Only Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge on Windows, Safari on Mac OS X, and. If you're on Linux, enter this command into your terminal. To solve the problem, Netflix decided to drop 1080p support entirely on. Microsoft began phasing out Silverlight in 2012, and and 2015 advised developers to stop using it (Google dropped support in for the plugin in 2015, and Firefox. open -n -a "Microsoft Edge" -args -disable-features=msEdgeSidebarV2 If you're using Mac, enter this command into your terminal. On both platforms, you can use the terminal to launch Edge and just not have the Bing button enabled. If you use Microsoft Edge on Mac or Linux, the process of not using the Bing Button is simpler. One workaround, if you have the 42-44 version of chrome, to enable usage of a Silverlight application would be to type chrome://flags/enable-npapi on the address bar in chrome. It has been called a Google search for your soul.Īuthors promoting it claims that it will unlock the secret universal knowledge and access the archive of the soul (what ever that means). These records contain our every thought, deed, word, feeling, and intent. It is supposedly the central storehouse of all information for every individual who has ever lived upon the earth- a vast trove of information containing incredible wisdom and insight. The Akashic Records can be equated to the universe’s super-computer system. The medium Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), who supposedly read the records in a trance state, called it “The Book of Life” or “God’s Book of Remembrance” (both are mentioned in the Bible but Edgar distorted the Biblical meaning). The Akashic Records are reputedly accessible to certain select individuals-e.g., a spiritualist medium who conducts a séance.” Source They are said to be imprinted on Akasha, the astral light, which is described by spiritualists as a fluid ether existing beyond the range of human senses. Let’s expose it for what it really is.Īkasha is the Sanskrit word for “aether”, “sky”, or “atmosphere.” The Akashic Records, in the New Age and occultism is a supposed “compendium of pictorial records, or ‘memories,’ of all events, actions, thoughts, and feelings that have occurred since the beginning of time. If you ever come across someone teaching the Akashic Records, it should raise red flags since such a person is definitely associated with New Age or occult. We had a few hangups, but generally, the performance was solid. The processor is the MediaTek Helio P60, and like most processors you’ve probably not heard of, it’s a decent, if not a noteworthy, performer. It’s a square 1400 x 1400 resolution display, and while it’s nothing special, it certainly does the job. Still, we imagine most people will need a period of adaptation when using a QWERTY phone these days, so perhaps this won’t be as big an issue for some. You’ll need to tap a software bar at the bottom of the screen for punctuation, and some keys are in odd places, which makes the typing experience feel slightly odd. The keyboard also isn’t as good as the Key2’s. This isn’t a phone for your pocket, and it shows. 303 grams is an awful lot in a phone, and you can really tell when you’ve been using this for a while. It’s almost a full inch wider than the BlackBerry Key2, twice as thick, and almost twice as heavy to boot. The rugged nature is backed up by a truly enormous build. Metal plates cover the sides of the phone and the camera lens, and a thick rubber coating covers everything else. The sturdy construction is one of the keystone features of this phone. Yes, you read that right - a rugged QWERTY phone. Who it’s for: Someone who commonly finds themselves typing emails in challenging environments. Why you should buy this: You need a QWERTY phone with a bit more protection than your usual slim, sleek business phone. Read our full BlackBerry Key2 review Best rugged QWERTY phone: Unihertz Titan The screen is only 4.5 inches to accommodate the keyboard, and it’s an odd aspect ratio to boot.īut even with these problems, the BlackBerry Key2 is still the best overall QWERTY phone we can recommend. The camera suffers from shutter lag and mixed low-light performance, but the Portrait Mode is good. Performance wasn’t too far from the flagship phones of the time, but the gulf has widened since then, and you’ll find that this one definitely lags behind more modern phones. You can still program button functions, but there’s also a Speed key now, which acts as a shortcut into apps.ĭo you have to compromise to get a keyboard like this? Unfortunately, yes. The backlit keyboard is also capacitive, which means it’s touch-sensitive, so you can flick up to select suggested words on the predictive bar, and you can use the whole keyboard as a trackpad for scrolling. BlackBerry refined the keyboard experience offered by the original KeyOne by adding slightly larger keys and dropping the frets between them to provide more room. Sporting the best keyboard experience you’ll find on a smartphone today, this is still an attractive, moderately powerful phone with plenty of stamina and a host of security and privacy features. As such, this isn’t a phone to buy if getting the latest OS matters to you.īut despite those hefty downsides, the BlackBerry Key2 remains an excellent piece for QWERTY typing. Who it’s for: Anyone who needs the best QWERTY phone around.īlackberry hasn’t shown much interest in upgrading the line for a Ke圓, and it hasn’t even bothered to update the phone from Android 8.1 Oreo - an operating system update released in December 2017. Why you should buy this: It’s still the best choice for a QWERTY keyboard-equipped smartphone, even if it is no longer updating.
